One of the great things about working in a studio that is open to the public is meeting other artists and finding out we have similar sources of inspiration but do our work in completely different mediums. It is double the fun when they take the time to visit the studio and write about it. ~ Thank you Lisa Marie Sipe.
Yup…I am one lucky Irish girl. I was born into an amazing family. Married an amazing man. And have an amazing family of my own. I had a very special relationship with my paternal grandfather – Albert Lewis Lynch from before I was born until he passed. He wanted a granddaughter so badly. I was the 5th grandchild and the first girl.
St. Patrick’s Day was very important to him. Not only was he proud of his Irish roots and Irish name – LYNCH – it was also the day he married my grandmother. My grandmother passed away just 3 months shy of their 70th wedding anniversary and they loved each other and each of unconditionally until the end.
I made sure each year that I sent him something special on St. Paddy’s day to remind him of how much I loved him no matter where I was. So, as this St. Patrick’s Day approaches, his in in my thoughts. And I so wish he was here to celebrate this day with us. I love you GG!
Today marks my ONE year anniversary in my studio located in The Workhouse. Before having my studio space, I worked in my garage on 13 linear feet of bench. I thought my new 10′ X 14′ was going to be SO spacious. Little did I know, I would buy more tools, do more cool stuff and soon wish the space was even bigger.
At our Last Saturday event on March 30th I will have a drawing and the winner will receive a “Beer Speak” piece from my collection. You don’t need to be present to win, but you do need to be present to enter. Hope to see you there….6pm – 10pm at 50 SE Scott Street #6, Bend, OR.
You have to watch this video….there is a bit of truth to it if you know me and of course my daughter does, so she had to share this with me. The bits of truth? One, I live in Bend, Oregon which is close to Portland. Two, I do make jewelry. And three, it took me a while to get to this career…..Enjoy!
